They moved here to Boulder 2 years ago from NY city, not many people know about them though. Cool people, I'll prolly make a trip back soon. I got to see some samples and pre-production material, which they obviously didn't let me take pictures of, haha. Kidrobot has some cool stuff coming in the near future!

My Analysis of Fiasco's Angels Remix

Let's get into it.

"I see diamond flooded demons, Lamborghini angels/
Halos down with the doors flapping when they came through/
Windows up, system bumping you're the one they sang to/
Same two who said they're the ones you should send your thanks through/"

I interpret the first bar to be Fiasco expressing how there are those infatuated with money all around him (diamond flooded demons, Lamborghini angels). The second bar showing that they lack any positive intentions (halos down) and that they're all about being flashy (doors flapping when they came through). The third bar shows that they convey these good looking images and lifestyles in an attempt to attract you (windows up, system bumping you're the one they sang to). I doubt that the amazing angel/Lamborghini metaphor needs explanation.

"Pockets full of blessings they can sanctify and saint you/
You can hear them revvin' up in heaven now, can't you?/
Sandals made of chrome, and soul made of leather/
An engine full of sinnin' and, candy painted feathers/"

I interpret the first bar to be the fact that those who live these extravagant lives give these promises of happiness and acceptance, or that they can make you cool (pockets full of blessings they can sanctify and saint you). The second bar asking the target of these "angels" if they can hear them calling out with these promises. The next two bars extend the second bar going into detail of the attractiveness of what is being conveyed by the "Lamborghini angels", and further expressing their negative intentions (an engine full of sinnin'). The angel/Lamborghini metaphor is skillfully extended.

"The sound of the motor only revvin' you confess to/
I see this all in the eyes of the girl I'm next to/
I asked her where we going, and she just told me "pleasure"/
Hands on the wheel and her heels on the accele--/
--rator told her wait up, she kept going like et cetera/
Or like a broken record, we've come to far to just wheel it back selector/
So we gon' ride forever, forever, forever, forever, forever/"

The first bar shows how you were drawn in by the "Lamborghini angels", despite the negative connotations (the sound of the motor only revvin'/reverend you confess to). The rest of the first shows Fiasco to be a victim of this whole situation, more specifically with a girl, who, promised him "pleasure" (refer to third bar) and avoided any further speculation of her honesty (refer to fourth and fifth bar). The last two bars show Fiasco concluding that he's already been drawn in too far, and that it would be foolish to try and save himself, or turn back. The two similes are pretty obvious.

"Said she was a fan of mine, knew she was New Jersey/
But said that she was Anaheim, butterflies turn to suicides now it's Phantoms
flyin'/
Used to whisper in my ear but now she tryin' to vandal mine/
That holy feeling all gone, I'm slowly feeling all wrong/
None of this is satisfying -- pull it over let me out, I'll just hitchhike
back to mine/
Nothing's really as it seems, yea I should have known that/
Thought I caught a angel, devils had my phone tapped.../"

In the first two bars, Fiasco shows that he knows the girl is bad news (knew she was New Jersey - New Jersey Devils hockey team) but she insists that she's all good (but said that she was Anaheim - Anaheim Angels hockey team). The rest of the verse shows Fiasco coming to the realization that he got himself into a real mess, and he's starting to feel it -- he wants out. He learns to stay cautious, realizing what just happened to him (thought I caught a angel, devils had my phone tapped...).

This song is crazy, especially the fact that it almost directly relates to a situation in my life RIGHT NOW. Hope this interpretation gives some insight into the depths of Fiasco's story...

So yea, upon realizing that there's been a sneaker boutique open in my city for a couple of months now, I've been hyped about refreshing my closet and shoe collection (I'll hopefully get a ride soon). =p

"Shining Down" leaked...

After a terribly low quality snippet from Lupe and a period of restless waiting, the first single from "Lasers" titled Shining Down leaked and spread quickly...
The zShare and all other file hosting links have been taken down, but those that caught it (like me) are enjoying it on their iPod right now...

Lupe Fiasco x Trey Songz?

I would post a snapshot (I'm using my phone), but Lupe just twitted about Trey Songz being in a certain studio this coming Tuesday...

Lupe doesn't update on Twitter very often, so I'm guessing this update holds some sort of significance... perhaps a collabo for Lupe's upcoming project?

Only time will tell. =]
Update: Apparently this update is nowhere to be found on the actual Twitter website, but other people who get Twitter updates via SMS received the same text... so this isn't a joke. =p

Yea, here's a little quicky.

I've been working a lot, I'm a cashier at the Chick-fil-A in Hulen Mall. Haha.

I love how people take all day studying the menu just to order one meal, and then change their decision.

Aahh... I'm just gonna stop there about my Chick-fil-A woes.

On the other hand, my check is amazing (imo) and I will have a car by the time I'm driving... so life is pretty okay right now.

I'll also be working on my consistency with blog posts... stay tuned. =]

I found a composition book full of rhymes/poetry that I had written (presumably after being inspired by Food & Liquor), and found a rather interesting entry that goes as follows:

As I sit reclined and slacken
My feet remind my back and
Even my arms that I was told
To get up and do my work

I imagine an island badland
Surrounded by sharks and Kraken
Where the sand and air is cold
And the creepy crawlers lurk...

North Crowley '09 - Graduation

I'm pretty sure that last night was my first time ever attending a high school graduation.

And you know what? It was one of the coolest, most meaningful things that I've been to.

This year's seniors, in my opinion, were pretty awesome. Seeing them go was kinda tough.

I know each and every one of them are going on to do incredible things, so there's no point in being sad and gloomy... so congratulations North Crowley class of '09! You all did it!

As the title suggests, this is my first ever blog post.

I hope this is good, I hope people see it, and I hope I keep it updated.

This blog is straight up whatever I am thinking or have been thinking about, so the lack of correlation between posts should be expected. For the most part.

I'll soon update after this post; summer is here and things are gettin' busy.
